The Downtown was alive with Christmas spirit Friday night as Santa and Mrs Claus along with Mayor Vic Fedeli, MP Anthony Rota, and MPP Monique Smith helped to get the 20th Annual Old Fashioned Christmas Walk got underway.
The crisp cool air coupled with light snowflakes covering the ground helped set a true holiday feeling of friendship as local dignitaries officially kicked off the annual event with the ceremonial Christmas tree lighting at the Downtown Parkette.
Folks strolled around the downtown core visiting with friends and neighbours while taking a horse & wagon rides, sampling Christmas cookies with hot chocolate & cider, purchasing gifts all while listening to a number of choirs carolling.
The fun continues until 4 PM Saturday.
