COPE and Catholic board reach tentative agreement

The Canadian Office and Professional Employees’ Union (COPE) and the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board are pleased to announce that a tentative agreement was reached on November 11, 2008. COPE represents educational assistants, school secretaries, office and technical staff.

Details of the four year agreement will be released once the contract has been ratified by the membership and the Board. Ratification by COPE was completed on November 17, 2008, while the Board is expected to ratify the agreement at a special meeting on November 21, 2008.

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board has 123 FTE educational assistants, school secretaries, office and technical staff who work in 13 elementary schools, St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Catholic Secondary School and the board office serving approximately 3,250 students.
