Habitat for Humanity North Bay and Blue Sky Region is a recognized affiliate of Habitat for Humanity Canada.
Habitat for Humanity Canada is a national, non-profit, faith-based organization working for a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. Our mission is to mobilize volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting home ownership as a means to breaking the cycle of poverty. Habitat for Humanity builds simple, decent homes, with mainly donated labour and materials, and provides an interest-free mortgage to low-income partner families who would be denied home ownership through conventional lenders.

Current criteria and printable application forms for 2009 are now available on-line through the Habitat for Humanity North Bay and Blue Sky Region website at www.habitatnorthbay.com. Families whose present housing doesn't meet the family's needs (it may be in poor condition, unhealthy, unsafe, too costly, too small, inaccessible to some family members, etc.), and who are willing to take on the responsibilities of home ownership (including an interest-free mortgage) and to partner with Habitat for Humanity (contributing at least 500 hours of sweat equity) are encouraged to check out the criteria to determine if they are eligible to apply.

Applications must be mailed to a confidential post office box (address is on the application form) by November 30th.

Please visit our website to find out how to apply. Email questions to [email protected] or leave a voicemail at 495-6244 requesting a confidential callback from a Family Selection committee member.

Habitat for Humanity North Bay and Blue Sky Region Family Selection Committee members will also be available to answer questions from potential Partner Families at an information session to be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 27th in the auditorium at the North Bay Public Library.
