Winter storm watch in effect Update

As of 10:34 PM EST Friday November 14th Environment Canada issued the following Winter storm watch for the North Bay - Powassan - Mattawa area.

Significant winter weather possible Saturday.

This is an alert to the potential development of dangerous winter weather conditions in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A major low pressure system developing over the southern United States will track rapidly northward to lie over eastern Ontario Saturday evening.

Snow is expected to begin in North Bay by noon Saturday. 10 to 15 centimetres of heavy wet snow are possible before the snow tapers off near midnight.

There remains some uncertainty as to the western extent of the heavy snow shield tomorrow.
