The Greater Nipissing Stewardship Council, in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, is hosting a presentation for individuals interested in understanding First Nations and Aboriginal Treaty Rights.
The presentation will take place on Tuesday, October 21, 2008, 7-9 pm, at the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority building (15 Janey Avenue, North Bay).
Guest Speaker, Mr. Fred Bellefeuille, Barrister and Solicitor, will provide information on the historical and legal underpinnings for the protection and recognition of First Nations hunting and fishing rights. Participants will learn the basics about these rights and how they fit into modern, Canadian society.
A $5 donation at the door will go towards future Council initiatives
