Cookie campaign a sweet success

Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign was a sweet success with $13,580.00 being raised for the North Bay & District Hospital Argon Plasma Coagulator Program. 13,580 of the special chocolate chunk cookies were sold between September 22nd-October 1st at Ten Tim Hortons locations across North Bay.

“I would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who helped to make this year’s campaign such an overwhelming success,” said Ralph Closs, Tim Hortons Store Owner, on behalf of fellow owners Ken Coughlin, and Peter and Brandon Moffat. “Raising awareness for Cancer Care Equipment through the Smile Cookie campaign opens the door to more community involvement and ensures that the funds raised in our community stays in our community. I think that’s something we can all smile about!”

Each “Smile Cookie” sold for $1 (tax excluded) with entire proceeds donated to the charity.

The “Smile Cookie” program originally began in Hamilton, Ontario in 1996 to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital. Since then, it has expanded across Canada helping a variety of children’s charities, hospitals and community programs.
