Mattawa man charged with impaired driving

Mattawa OPP officers responded to a motor vehicle collision on Saturday, September 27th, 2008 shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Highway 533 in Mattawan Township.

Mattawa Ambulance Service attended the scene. The passenger and the driver were transported to the Mattawa General Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.

Brian J. BANKS, 34 years old, Mattawa, Ontario was charged with Impaired Driving (or Care or Control) – Motor Vehicle, as per s. 253(a) of the Criminal Code and with Over 80 – Operate (or Care or Control) – Motor Vehicle, under s. 253(b) of the Criminal Code. BANKS was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act for Driving while under suspension, as per s.53 and Disobey Stop Sign – Fail to Stop as per s.136(1)(a). BANKS is scheduled to appear for court in Mattawa on November 12th, 2008.
