Sewage spill closes two city beaches Updated

The City of North Bay wishes to advise the public that The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit received the Lab Results for the Golden Mile and Marathon Beaches. The results are within the satisfactory range therefore the postings have been lifted. The Beaches are now OPEN.

The City of North Bay wishes to advise the public that Golden Mile Beach and Marathon Beach (on Memorial Drive) have been tested by the Health Unit.

Lab results are expected by the weekend.

The precautionary beach closures will remain in effect until further notice.

Please be advised that as a precautionary measure The City of North Bay has CLOSED Golden Mile Beach and Marathon Beach (on Memorial Drive) due to a Sewage Spill into the Marina Basin.

The Heath Unit will be testing at both beaches tomorrow to determine if the beaches can be opened.
