Traffic stop leads to drug charges

Pedley Township – On Saturday, September 6th, 2008, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a North Bay OPP officer charged two persons with drug related offences. The officer was conducting general patrol on Highway 17, just east of Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, when he stopped a vehicle as a result of Highway Traffic Act offence. Further investigation resulted in over 10 lbs of marijuana with an estimated street value of over $70,000.

James R. ROQUEBRUNE, 23 years old, and Tracy JENNINGS, 23 years old, both of Metcalfe, Ontario were charged each with one count of

- Possession for the Purpose Schedule II over 3 kg contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, s.5(2);

ROQUEBRUNE and JENNINGS are both scheduled to appear in North Bay for court on October 7th, 2008.
