Guelph man dies following MVC north of Thibeault Hill

North Bay OPP are continuing to investigate a fatal two-vehicle collision that took place last evening (Friday August 22nd, 2008) on Highway 11, north of Thibeault Hill, North Bay, Ontario.

At approximately 9:40 p.m., 40 year old Scott WINTERS of Guelph, Ontario was driving southbound on Highway 11 in a green Ford Taurus and collided into the rear of a Tractor Trailer that was about to make a turn off of the highway. North Bay Fire Department and Ambulance responded the scene with the North Bay OPP. Mr. WINTERS had to be extricated from the wreckage and was transported to North Bay General Hospital. Mr. Winters succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Saturday August 23rd, 2008. No injuries were sustained by the driver of the Tractor Trailer.

North Bay OPP are being assisted by a North East Region Technical Collision Investigator and the North East Region Forensic Identification Unit in this investigation.
