Exhausted and relieved Alex Milne and Jonathon Strang arrived at the CN Tower shortly after 4 pm Wednesday.

Amanda Laframboise with the Alzheimer Society of North Bay and District says the boys were full of adrenaline and very happy to be done their ride.

Alzheimer Society staff say they are thrilled with the exposure the duo brought to the disease and what it has done to further the cause.

“The Alzheimer Society of North Bay is so proud of both John and Alex for their accomplishments and efforts to raise money for our organization. They have helped raise awareness of this dreadful disease and have helped our
programs through the money they raised,” notes Linda Brown, Executive Director at the Alzheimer Society.

“To date, they have raised approximately $3,600 and there is still money coming in. We have had people call requesting information on Alzheimer Disease and some have joined our support groups. This in itself is amazing.”

“These 2 young men completed this ride with determination and positive attitude. You can really tell it was done from the heart and that has touched us. The North Bay Community should feel honoured to have members of our community such as John and Alex. They are positive role models for young people. We would like to thank both
John and Alex's parents. They have been fantastic through this event and always remained positive. John Strang Sr. drove the emergency vehicle following John and Alex and he helped to keep the boys spirits high and was a great help when mechanical difficulties occurred," She adds.

"The North Bay community and media where fantastic in their support of these young men, John and Alex along with their families are now members of the Alzheimer Society family. We look forward to next year’s ride and hopefully others will join John and Alex on their journey."
