Cadets from across Canada are graduating from Canadore's Air Cadet Summer Training Centre on Friday.

Fifty-nine Royal Canadian Air Cadets will receive a certificate of achievement from the Canadian Forces for completion of the Advanced Aviation Technology Course - Aircraft Maintenance, at Canadore.

The training included courses in aircraft standards practices, aircraft structures, aircraft systems, and aircraft servicing.

The cadets, aged 14 to 18, began their training on July 7. They were chosen through a selection process by the military and the Air Cadet League of Canada.

The ceremony on August 15 at the Aviation Campus. with guest speakers LCol. J.F.M. Gaboury and BGen. R. Button retired of the Air Cadet League of Canada.

Three deserving cadets will be awarded the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada Cadet Medal of Merit for the top overall cadet, a bursary from the Canadian Aviation Maintenance Council for the highest academics, or a certificate and bursary for the most improved cadet presented by 422 Wing of the Air Force Association of Canada.

This is the first year Canadore has run this course.

To be accepted, the cadets had to meet specific training requirements and be recommended by their Commanding Officer. There were approximately 200 applications and only 60 were selected.
