Canadore College congratulates recent graduate Courtney Rae Heels for capturing two prestigious awards from the Radio Television News Directors Foundation.

Courtney was awarded the RTNDF Scholarship for second year, third year and graduate students, and the RTNDA George Clark Scholarship for the best overall entry. Heels' submission was a television report on the Human Papillomavirus, which the judges said was timely, well presented, and included relevant interviews.

Courtney graduated this year with academic honours from the Journalism – Print and Broadcast program. Courtney was also a recipient of two scholarships while attending Canadore. Courtney is presently working as a reporter for CTV.

RTNDF presented over $12,000 in scholarships. The scholarships were presented during the recent Radio Television News Directors Canada Association conference in Ottawa in June.

The RTNDF was established by the RTNDA in 1978 to offer financial assistance to students in Canada. Each year, six scholarships will be awarded to Canadian students. To date, the RTNDF has awarded scholarships valued at more than $221,500.
