Double Fatal closes Hwy 17 at Bonfield

OPP advise that as of 3:15am Highway 17 is open in both directions.

Bonfield Township – North Bay & Mattawa OPP are currently investigating a double fatal as a result of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17, west of Rutherglen, Ontario. The collision occurred at approximately 6 p.m.

Highway is completely closed at this time from Highway 531 to Park Street, Bonfield, Ontario.

The investigation is still in its’ infancy and few details are available at this time.

The Ontario Provincial Police advise the public that as of 6:30pm Hwy 17 between Ruhterglen and Bonfield is closed due to a Motor vehicle collision.

There is no detour at this time and the estimated duration of closure is unkown.
