One new forest fire reported

East Fire Region situation update July 10 as of 9:00 am

• One new fire in the last 24 hours
• Ontario FireRangers and related personnel in Alberta set to return on July 11

There are no active fires in the East Fire Region. North Bay 4 was reported yesterday at 0.1 hectares in size and is now out.

On Friday, July 11, Alberta is set to release the over 100 FireRangers and related personnel that were sent from the East Fire Region.

The forest fire hazard in the East Fire Region is mostly low with some areas of moderate hazard in the far south. Always use caution with all outdoor fires and follow safe burning guidelines.

Under the Forest Fires Prevention Act of Ontario day burning of brush or grass is not allowed. Burning of grass or brush may be done no sooner than two hours before s unset and it must be put it out no later than two hours after sunrise. Choose a safe site, keep your fire small and never leave it unattended. Remember to ensure the fire is put dead out before leaving the site. If you live in a Municipality, check local bylaws for any burning restrictions that may apply.
