City police call in the canine unit

On the 3rd of July shortly after 12:00AM, Cst. Jason Long attended an alarm at Central Auto on Birches Rd.

It is alleged that the officer saw a motor vehicle coming towards the police cruiser on Birches Rd. when it suddenly slammed on its brakes spun around and took off at a high rate of speed.

The officer followed the motor vehicle a short distance then the suspects suddenly stopped and fled on foot into the bush area.

Investigators are seeking 2 white males, one approximately 6’0, with a skinny build, dark hair wearing a dark coloured plaid jacket/shirt. The second male is shorter with dark hair and dark clothing.

Officers of the North Bay Police Service obtained the assistance of the Canine Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police with negative results.
