An exciting business experience awaits youths between the ages of 9 and 12 and teens between the ages of 13 and 16. They will participate in a five-day summer camp unlike any other in our region in August 2008. Youth Enterprise Camp sponsored by Regional CFDCs, FedNor, RDÉE Ontario and other corporate sponsors is a one of a kind business camp, where all participants will embark on a journey into the world of enterprise. The camp also includes great summer activities such as water sports, hiking, swimming, theme nights, campfires and much more.

Young Entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to meet new friends, create their own business and may even make a profit that is theirs to keep. Camp participants will be under the supervision of North-eastern Ontario CFDCs and the Canadian Ecology Centre staff.

New budding entrepreneurs will learn business skills such as how to select a business idea, marketing skills, preparing a business plan and more. Campers will also learn how to be a team player, a creative thinker, organizational skills and goal setting skills all aimed at self-discovery. Youth will run their own “Business for a Day” on Friday, August 15th, 2008 and teens will run their “Business for a Day” on Friday, August 22nd, 2008 at the North Bay Waterfront. This is a perfect opportunity for residents to come out and support our entrepreneurs of the future.

Youth Enterprise Camp Entreprise Jeunesse will take place at the Canadian Ecology Centre in Mattawa from August 11th to August 15th, 2008 for youths aged 9 to 12 years of age and from August 18th to August 22nd, 2008 for teens aged 13 to 16 years of age. This camp will host participants from Sudbury East/West Nipissing, North Bay, South Temiskaming, Muskoka and Parry Sound. There are a limited amount of spaces available per community so entrepreneurs should register early. More information will be delivered to the communities and local schools.
