They’ve been watching the new health centre building “grow” from the outside, but now North Bay and area residents will have the opportunity to view some of the rooms as they will appear in 2010!

A series of mock up rooms, including a typical private and semi-private room, a critical care unit, a labor/birth/delivery room, nursing stations, an isolation room, and mental health client rooms have been built inside a vacant warehouse, to mirror the facilities that will be built in the new hospital.

These rooms have been vital as part of the planning process of the new hospital to gather input from staff and to ensure the exact building details are in place so the rooms that are constructed in the new building are as efficient as possible. Staff at both the Northeast Mental Health Centre and the North Bay General Hospital toured the mock up rooms this past week and now members of the public are invited to do the same.
