OPP issue a reminder for pedestrians and bicyclists

North Bay OPP is reminding pedestrians and bicyclists that Highway 11/17 Bypass between Gormanville Road and Seymour Road is a controlled access highway. Therefore prohibiting use by pedestrians and bicyclists.

There has been an increased use and police would like to remind both pedestrians and bicyclists that their use can result in a charge under the Highway Traffic Act with either of the following:

• Regulations 627/90 Schedule 58
Pedestrian using controlled access highway sec 1(1) fine of $50

• Regulations 630/90 Schedule 60
Bicycle on controlled access highway sec1(a) fine of $110
