Marathon for Life set to go

The Partici-Patrick 08 Planning Committee wishes to announce the culminating point of this unique program - called the “Day of Celebration” this Friday June 6th, starting at 10:00 am at Thomson Park in North Bay.

Thousands of area students will meet to run the last leg of a marathon that they began training for 10 weeks ago. After receiving their celebratory medal, students will be engaged in a full day of activities monitored by youth from the Commonwealth Games group- KICKING AIDS OUT!
This culminating activity will be a wonderful way to celebrate their achievements.

All four area school boards are proud to support this project focusing on physical activity, healthy choices, self-esteem building as well as HIV and AIDS awareness.

In attendance, will be the Fortin family, the Minister of Education, The Honourable Kathleen Wynne, North Bay Mayor Vic Fedeli, Nipissing MPP Monique Smith, Nipissing MP Anthony Rota , representatives from the Patrick4Life organisation, Directors of Education, The Rotary Club of Nipissing, University of Queens researcher Will Boyce, Barb Olmstead, event sponsors and invited guests.
