Hwy 11 closed Update on fatality

On Monday the 2nd of June 2008 at approximately 9:04pm Almaguin Highlands OPP responded to a Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision Highway #11 Armour Township.

A north bound automobile collided with a south bound tractor trailer, engulfing the tractor trailer in flames. Burks Falls and Sundridge Fire departments responded to the fire. The driver of the north bound vehicle, Deborah CLEAVELEY 56 yrs of age, of Orillia ON suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the south bound tractor trailer was uninjured.

Highway 11 was closed for a period of time due to investigative purposes. Highway has now re-opened and traffic is proceeding normally. Investigation is ongoing.

The Almaguin Highlands OPP advise the public that as of 9:10 pm Hwy 11 N of Berridale Rd and South of North Pickerel Lake Rd. is closed due to Collision between involving a Tractor Trailer and car.

Detour: North Pickerel Lake Rd to Berriedale Rd to Hwy 11.
Berriedale Rd to North Pickerel Lake to Hwy 11.

Estimated length of time for the closure is unknown.
