OPP Victims identified in suspicious Sudbury deaths (Update)

Subury - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating the discovery of two deceased persons in a remote cabin on Thor’s Lake, Frechette Township, north of Sudbury. The deaths of the adult male and female that were found in the cabin on May 16, 2008 are being treated as suspicious.

The victims have been identified as:

• Carolyn CARROLL, 44, of Wahnapitae, Ontario
• Mark Anthony COMEAU, 46, of Coniston, Ontario, originally from New Brunswick

Post mortem examinations have been scheduled for May 20, 2008, in Sudbury, Ontario.

The OPP has deployed significant resources to this remote area to conduct the investigation that is being led by the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) with investigators from the Sudbury Crime Unit and the OPP’s North East Region. The North East Region Emergency Response Team has also been conducting an extensive ground search of the area.

The OPP is asking that anyone who was in this area or has information regarding this incident, call the Sudbury OPP Crime Unit at 705-564-6900. A strictly anonymous report can also be made through the Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

The investigation is continuing.
