Ferris Glen hosts a big pajama party

Two very special events will be held this month at Ferris Glen Public School in Corbeil. The first event is the Annual Spring Fling. This event is held on Thursday May 15th from 5 pm – 7 pm. The second event is a Pajama Party Literacy Night with author /artist Werner Zimmerman which will be held on Wednesday May 21st.

The Annual Spring Fling is a tradition at Ferris Glen Public School. It’s a chance to get outdoors and celebrate! The evening kicks off with a barbeque and visitors can choose a hot dog or sausage on a bun, a drink, and ice cream for a small fee. Then they can wander through a selection of books available at the Scholastic Book Fair and on display by USBorne books. Outdoor games and face painting are available throughout the evening as well.

“Students and parents love coming to the Spring Fling”, states principal G. Lynch. “They particularly like finding out who wins the raffle and the brand the new bicycle!”

The Pajama Party Literacy Night is a special evening with Werner Zimmerman, author of many children’s books. The children are invited to attend dressed in their pajamas and they’ll enjoy a pizza supper followed by a presentation by Werner Zimmerman. The interactive presentation focuses on the wonder of books and reading in an entertaining style unique to Mr. Zimmerman. Suzanne from Gulliver’s Books will also be here with a selection of Mr. Zimmerman’s books for sale.

“I know our Ferris Glen families will thoroughly enjoy the Pajama Party”, states literacy coach Christine Loreto. “In fact, I hear that at some parties, the adults are vying to put the pots on their heads, so it’s sure to be a great evening!”
