World Red Cross Day coincides with founder Henry Dunant’s birthday, and is squarely aimed at raising the profile of the humanitarian aid which the International Red Cross and Red Crescent provides to millions around the world. The event observed annually to pay tribute to Dunant (1828-1910) who founded the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and whose work includes the Geneva Conventions. This year is the 60th anniversary of the first World Red Cross Day.

Locally, the North Bay Branch of the Canadian Red Cross is proud to continue in the tradition of the worldwide movement by providing disaster management services, first aid training and abuse prevention workshops.

The branch office is located at 1275 Main Street West, North Bay, Ontario. The branch office is currently seeking volunteers to fill a variety of roles.
