Search warrant results in drug charges

Mattawa - On Tuesday May 6th 2008, members of Project “Northern Gateway “ (a joint investigation between members of the Ontario Provincial Police and North Bay Police Service) assisted by members of the OPP RACT and Mattawa OPP Detachment executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a Mattawa residence.

Cannabis marihuana and Oxycodone pills were located during the search. The seized drugs have a potential street value of approximately $2000.00. One person has been charged.

CHARGED:

1. William Kenneth GROULX (dob 16Oct56) of Mattawa. Released via Promise to Appear with conditions.

• Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (Cannabis marihuana).
• Possession of a controlled substance contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (Oxycodone).
