The North Bay chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society has confirmed that students from St. Joseph Scollard Hall will be helping with their annual Residential Door to Door Canvass.

Each year in April thousands of volunteers hit the streets knocking on doors and collecting funds for the society and canvas coordinator Susan Plamondon says thanks to the efforts of the students from St. Joseph Scollard Hall streets that would not have been covered for the 2008 campaign will now be covered.

In April 2007, approximately 27, 000 presidential campaign volunteers across the province raised almost $6 million in the fight against cancer.

The students will hit the streets tonight Tuesday, April 29, and concentrate on going door to door in the St. Joseph Scollard Hall neighbourhood from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
It will be easy to spot a canvasser:

• Carry materials printed with the Society's yellow and blue daffodil logo

• Wear a name tag

• Show official identification

• A receipt is immediately provided after ever donation and features the Society's name, charitable tax receipt number, and the yellow and blue daffodil logo.
