Habitat's first build well underway

For the past two years members of Habitat for Humanity have been working tirelessly towards their first house build and on Friday the project took a giant leap towards reality as shovels broke ground at the site of Ellen House.

The North Bay and Blue Sky Region affiliate board chair Kenneth Hollington says breaking ground at the first build in a line of many Habitat for Humanity Homes. He says if the group has the necessary funding in place that they should be able to complete Ellen house in the next two months.

Terry Erny says he and his family are overwhelmed with the support of the community.

Pop Can Ellie (Ellen Faulkner) finds out May 2, if the chapter can add another $60,000 to the coffers when alcan names the top three groups to collect the most aluminum pop cans for the “Alcan Builds on Recycling Program”. To date the affiliate has raised $35,000 and needs another $120,000.
