Xtreme Apparel & Sportswear has received $23,950 in funding from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC), through the Enterprises North Job Creation Program, to help purchase new equipment to handle sewing and embroidery needs on site at their new retail space. The additional capacity has resulted in the company moving to a larger facility on Cassells Street and is expected to create new jobs over the next three years, Hon. Monique Smith, MPP for Nipissing announced today.

“Supporting small business helps foster a strong economy." Smith said. “The growth of this originally home-based business demonstrates the drive and initiative of our northern entrepreneurs."

Through its Enterprise North Job Creation Program, the NOHFC has to date invested more than $44.7 million in the expansion of Northern Ontario private sector enterprises.

A total of 69 projects have been funded, helping to create nearly 1,600 jobs and sustain another 570 jobs in the North.

“Our government is committed to investing in private sector job creation,” said Northern Development and Mines Minister and NOHFC chair Michael Gravelle.
