Cst. Andre Berube of North Bay Police investigated a complaint of an unprovoked assault by a 23-year-old male against a female acquaintance.
It is alleged that Jason Shawn Gardner, of 100 Block Lakeshore Drive punched victim in the face and head, pulled hair and kicked her in the leg.
Gardner is charged with Assault and Breach of probation and is being held for a bail hearing April 24, 2008.
