Wawa - On the 19th of April 2008, Superior East OPP investigated an incident where an abandoned vehicle was located 25 kilometers north of Wawa and a further search located the body of 32 year old Stephane Plamondon in Catfish Creek.

Cause of death has been determined to be drowning. The investigation is still ongoing but foul play is not suspected.

Wawa - On April 19th 2008 at approximately 6:40AM, Superior East OPP, Wawa checked an abandoned vehicle 25 kms North of Wawa on Hwy 17. The 2003 brown Chev Impala with an Alberta licence plate was parked on the southbound side of the highway with the passenger doors open and the car motor running.

No one was found near the vehicle and it appears there were injuries sustained within the car.

The Northeast Regional Crime Unit, OPP Canine, OPP Emergency Response Team, Forensic Indent Unit and the OPP Helicopter are assisting Superior East OPP with the investigation.
