News Release

***********************

Many different cultural groups are represented in North Bay. To celebrate the diversity of cultures, the North Bay & District Multicultural Centre will host “Cultures of North Bay,” an afternoon to acknowledge and enjoy the diversity of our community through a fashion show and craft exhibition. Traditional sweets will also be shared during the exhibition. The event will take place on Saturday, May 10, from 1-4 pm at Odyssée Public School, 480 Norman Ave, North Bay.

Participation by different cultures will contribute to the overall success of the event. Therefore, we are extending an invitation to all cultural groups in North Bay to take part in this wonderful event and showcase the rich cultural heritage through clothing, craft or food (cookies or sweet meats). We also encourage all cultural groups to wear their traditional clothing for the “Cultures of North Bay” event.

We are also pleased to invite local schools to actively contribute to this event. Contributions are welcomed through performances, artistic endeavours or food.

Information on participating or contributing to “Cultures of North Bay” may be obtained from Oweeny De Silva at the North Bay & District Multicultural Centre at 495-8931 or by e-mail at [email protected].

This event is free of charge and open to all members of the community.
