To most of the community, the operations of City Hall, especially City Council, can be complicated and hard to understand. A mayor's job is far from easy work and Mayor Vic Fedeli took some time before the regular committee meeting held Tuesday night to talk with cub scouts about his position and conducting business at City Hall. Leader of the 'pack', Marc St-Jules says that the cubs and all citizens don't often see how things in the community work.

"We learned a lot,. They (cubs) were very keen and interested in the questions they posed," St-Jules says.

Fedeli explained how the council deals with the environmental aspects in the city such as the recycling, what can and can't be thrown in the blue boxes, and the water treatment system. He also went through the city's plan to reduce the amount of pollution contaminating the ozone. Instead of having the methane gas pollute the air, it is trapped in pipes underground and burnt off, thus, methane is not released into an already hurting environment.

Cub group leader, Sean Ricketts says that he had fun at the council meeting and learned a lot from Mayor Fedeli.

"I'm interested in knowing what the city is going to do with waste and resources," Ricketts says.

Fellow cub pack member Peter Kuehl also enjoyed his experience at city hall but was interested in an entirely different aspect. He says he wants to be a politician at the provincial level.

"One day I hope to improve something in my country," Kuehl says.

Although the cubs had fun Sean Ricketts had one final thought.

"It would be cool to be a politician but right now I want to be an astronaut or rocket scientist," Rickett says.
