The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA) released the current snow pack information for the North Bay area today as part of their Flood Forecasting and Warning Program.

“The water content of the snow pack continues to remain below normal for this time of the year,” explains Brian Tayler, General Manager of the NBMCA. “The extent and speed of runoff come spring time will be largely dependent on the amount of warm spring rain that we receive. In the meantime, as temperatures begin to rise, the public is advised to continue to use extreme caution on all ice, especially near areas of flowing water as ice conditions can be unpredictable at this time of year.”

The NBMCA will continue with its bi-weekly monitoring of the snow pack throughout the spring of 2008.
