The Near North District School Board wishes to extend congratulations to the students selected as ‘Students Who Make a Difference.’
Students have been selected from three elementary schools and seven schools at the secondary level in celebration of being positive role models who demonstrate leadership in social justice issues. The Near North District School Board is taking part in the initiative through anti-racism education, events in the schools and an anti-racism poster contest.
Students will be recognized at the 20th Annual Evening of Applause on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, as part of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Members of the public and media are encouraged to attend the ‘Evening of Applause’ at 6:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Scollard Hall.
Students who have made a difference will be recognized for their contributions by Heli Vail, Director of Education and Kelly Brown, Superintendent of Schools and Program, at the ‘Evening of Applause.’
