Area man charged with 3 counts of fraud

It is alleged that on two occasions thieves stole a digital recorder from a local electronics retailer in town on the month of Feb. and March of this year. It is further alleged that these digital recorders were pawned and that the same thieves returned again to the same electronic retailer and stole a 3rd digital recorder and pawned same again.

The staff at the retail store became aware of this third theft and after checking some video footage, they reported this to Cst. Henri O’Neill of the North Bay Police on the 13th of March and the officer commenced his investigation.

That same day, Paul SOUTHERN 47 years of Southshore Rd. in Bonfield was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Theft Under, 3 counts of Possession of Stolen Property, 3 counts of Fraud Under and 3 counts of Breach of Probation.

He is to attend court on the 22nd of April and the investigation continues.
