Fatal Hearst fire now a homicide

Hearst - A post-mortem examination by the coroner on the body of a male victim recovered from the scene of a fatal mobile home fire in Hearst on March 6, 2008 has confirmed the victim’s identity as Aldoria Fournier, 57 of Hearst.

The mobile home destroyed by the fire was the residence of the victim and was located on, Gilles Street, in the Lecours Trailer Park in Hearst.

The post mortem examination was conducted in Sudbury at the Northeastern Regional Forensic Pathology Unit, Sudbury Regional Hospital's Laurentian site on March 11, 2008. As a result of the examination the OPP is treating this case as a homicide investigation.

The investigation is ongoing however the evidence indicates that this is an isolated incident which does not lead the OPP to have any concern for public safety.

The investigation is being conducted by members of the OPP Hearst detachment, under the direction of Detective Inspector Tim Millar, OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.

The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal is assisting the Ontario Provincial Police.
