Spring spruce up in Redbridge

Spring is just around the corner and the folks at the Phelps Community Recreation Centre (PCRC) have decided to get a head start on their spring spruce up.
Spring is just around the corner and the folks at the Phelps Community Recreation Centre (PCRC) have decided to get a head start on their spring spruce up.

The centre, located at 9321 Hwy 63 Redbridge, is getting a fresh coat of paint along with some overdue renovations. Officials say once completed, the centre will be functional for events community events like the annual ball tournament.

The centre will be open to the community Saturday March 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and everyone is encouraged to drop by with their empty bottles (pop, beer and liquor and beer cans) and stay for lunch. Organisers are hosting a charity barbeque starting at 12 noon and will serve sausage or burgers for just three dollars.

The money raised from the barbeque will be applied directly to the centre’s renovation costs.

If you are unable to stop by the centre but have a bottle donation, PCRC members would be happy to pick them up as a volunteer door to door campaign has been organised for March 15.

Please call Brenna Aultman at 663-2867 by Friday, March 14, to confirm your donation pick up.
