Final students & faculty safely heading home from Cameroon

Nipissing University is pleased to announce that the second group of students and faculty have departed safely from Cameroon on their scheduled flight. All students and faculty who were in Cameroon have now safely exited the country.

The group was aboard a plane which has now departed the airport in Douala and is en route to Paris, France. This group is comprised of 10 Bachelor of Education students and one faculty member. They arrived safely at the airport earlier today. The group is participating in Nipissing University’s International Teaching Placement.

The university will make counselling available for students and faculty upon their return.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada has now downgraded the travel advisory for Cameroon. They now advise travellers to exercise a high degree of caution but have removed the advisory against non-essential travel.
