NORTH BAY – The Township of Nipissing is putting together a strategy for future growth and development with the help of the Ontario government.
The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) is providing $11,000 to the municipality to take stock of its strengths, weaknesses, trends, and future economic development opportunities. The resulting strategic plan will outline development priorities for the next five years.
“The plan that will come out of this work will assist the Township of Nipissing to maintain a thriving and healthy community,” said Revenue Minister and Nipissing MPP Monique Smith. “It will help better address local needs and tap new growth opportunities.”
“We are all fiercely proud of our North,” said Northern Development and Mines Minister Michael Gravelle, who also chairs the NOHFC. “We are all committed to achieving every community’s potential.”
