Lottery ticket complaint leads to charges

North Bay - The Ontario Provincial Police, Investigation and Enforcement Bureau, Alcohol and Gaming Commission have charged a North Bay man following an investigation into a lottery ticket redemption complaint.

Customers who had purchased winning scratch and win tickets at a convenience store in North Bay were denied payment of their winnings when they attempted to redeem the tickets at the store. They were told that the tickets were already registered as having been paid out.

Charged with 2 counts of Theft Under $5,000 and 2 counts of Fraud Under $5,000 is Tyler Stewart, 23 yrs of North Bay, ON.

Stewart was employed at the convenience store at the time of the incidents.

The accused is scheduled to appear in North Bay Court on 18th of March 2008 to answer to the charges.

The investigation is continuing.
