Canadore celebrates student excellence

Canadore College celebrated over 200 students for their academic excellence Thursday during the 36th Annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony in the Education Centre Gymnasium.
Canadore College celebrated over 200 students for their academic excellence Thursday during the 36th Annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony in the Education Centre Gymnasium.

The students, who were joined by family, faculty and community members, received awards, bursaries and scholarships in recognition of the dedication, skill and hard work demonstrated in their respective programs.

BayToday’s own Michelle Baril was recognised for her outstanding achievements with the Dona Callender Memorial Award for Journalism – Print & Broadcast.

College officials say 200 scholarships, which are sponsored by businesses, professional associations, community groups, memorials, staff, faculty; alumni and involved citizens, valued over $600,000 will be awarded to students this year.

Another two hundred donor bursaries will be awarded to the students in March.
