School Bus and snowplow have minor collision

Nipissing Township – Powassan OPP investigated a collision between a school bus and a municipal snowplow earlier this morning on Culham Road in Nipissing Township. The incident occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m. on February 15th, 2008.

The bus was carrying five students at the time of the collision. No one suffered any injuries and the students were transferred to another school bus and subsequently transported safely to school.

Police would like to take this opportunity to remind motorists that rural roads are getting narrower as a result of the increasing snow banks and caution needs to be utilized. This includes slowing down especially on curves and ensuring you move over and share the road. Keeping in mind it takes longer to come to a complete stop on snow covered roads.
