Schools closed due to power outages Update

Near North District School Board

The majority of the Near North District Schools remained open today. However, due to power outages throughout the day the following NNDSB schools closed once parents were notified and students were picked up:
Ferris Glen, Mapleridge, M.A. Wittick Almaguin Highlands, South River, Phelps Central, Evergreen Heights, Land of Lakes and Sundridge Schools.

We anticipate power will be restored overnight. In the event that a school is without power tomorrow, January 31st, the media will be informed early in the morning and information will also be posted on the Near North District School Board website.

The majority of the Near North District Schools remain open. Due to some power outages the following NNDSB schools will close: Ferris Glen, Mapleridge, South River and Land of Lake only after parents are notified and students are picked up.

Both Evergreen Heights and Sundridge Centennial Schools are officially closed.
