Rain and wind caused major headaches across the region today that saw roads closed due to flooding, students sent home early and power outages due to downed power lines.

At one point reports indicate that winds got up to 60 kilometres per hour and that led to further headaches out on Callander Bay where a number of ice huts were blown around and some were completely destroyed.
