West Nipissing - On Friday, December 14th 2007, at about 7:20 pm, members of the Noelville OPP, Warren OPP Satellite Detachment and West Nipissing Police Service responded to a single vehicle and pedestrian collision on Highway 17 just west of Highway 575 in Verner, Municipality of West Nipissing.
A westbound vehicle collided with a pedestrian. The pedestrian was fatally injured as a result of the collision and has been identified as Roland GAREAU, age 74 of Verner. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was not injured. Road conditions were not a factor in this collision.
Members of the Noelville OPP Detachment, North Bay and Sudbury Highway Safety Division, with the assistance of an OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigator are continuing their investigation into this fatal collision.
