The grassroots energy conservation campaign ‘Project Porchlight’ is currently delivering 20,000 energy-efficient light bulbs across North Bay throughout the month of December as part of a province-wide campaign.

Twenty thousand compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs in North Bay will generate up to $1,000,000 in energy savings over five years and will stop 10,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide from being emitted into the atmosphere.

Today (Saturday) staff and volunteers with Project Porchlight will be at the Northgate Shopping Centre today handing out free CFL bulbs, energy saving information and coupons to North Bay residents from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM

You will find them at the mall beside North Bay Hydro’s seasonal light exchange table.

Project Porchlight Ontario is funded by the Ontario Power Authority, the Government of Ontario, and the Trillium Foundation of Ontario, and by North Bay Hydro.
