Council lobbys for passport office

City Councillor Mike Anthony thinks North Bay makes a great spot for a North-eastern Ontario passport office.
City Councillor Mike Anthony thinks North Bay makes a great spot for a North-eastern Ontario passport office.

Anthony presented the motion Monday night noting that of the 13 passport offices in Ontario there is only one in the North and that is in Thunder Bay.

The councillor says on average 3o passport submissions are made through MP Anthony Rota’s office daily, and he feels based on that average Northern Ontario can sustain another office.

Council will now appeal to MP Rota, FedNor Minister Tony Clement and FONOM lobbying for their support in the venture.
