“We’re talking about HIV/AIDS, now it’s your turn”

In preparation for World AIDS Day, December 1st, 7,700 students will receive an important message on Friday: STOP AIDS. An awareness campaign including a video shot by local artist, Ed Regan featuring Patrick4Life Board members and Youth Ambassador, Jerri Clout will be played and the brochure featuring community members will be distributed to every high school student in the district.

In partnership with all four boards of education, Patrick4Life will reach out to all local secondary schools including North Bay, Parry Sound, Mattawa, South River/Sundridge and Sturgeon Falls as well as neighbouring schools in Timmins and Iroquois Falls. 4,900 Near North District School Board students, 1,030 Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board students, 1,200 Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord students and 570 Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l ’Ontario students, in fifteen high schools, will hear the message that HIV/AIDS is 100% preventable and that it is the youth that will stop the spread of this disease.
