As the city heads into the holidays the Nipissing Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) took the opportunity Wednesday to remind drivers that drinking and driving don’t mix.

Mayor Vic Fedeli, along with representatives of the North Bay Police Service, Ontario Provincial Police and other various dignitaries joined Local MADD President Kathryn Douglas to officially launch the annual Red Ribbon Campaign this afternoon in the City Hall Court Yard.

Douglas reiterated the importance of being responsible not just during the holiday season but each and every day of the year. She says the repercussions of drinking and driving can tear apart a family.

The Red Ribbon Campaign runs from November 1st to the first Monday after the New Year. During the Look for the MADD ribbon donation boxes throughout the city and tie one on.

The MADD Red Ribbon is a symbol of a person's commitment to drive safe and sober during the holiday season and throughout the year.
