On 28 November 2007, Colonel R.R. Pitre will relinquish command of 22 Wing/CFB North Bay and the Canadian Air Defence Sector to Colonel M.P. Galvin.

Colonel R.R. Pitre has been the Wing/Base Commander for 22 Wing/CFB North Bay for the past two years. During this time, he has been extremely active in the community and worked closely with the Department of National Defence on various issues that saw the Canadian Air Defence Sector move from the underground complex to the above-ground Sergeant David L. Pitcher facility. Colonel R.R. Pitre will be leaving North Bay to study at the Royal College of Defence Studies in London, England.

Colonel M.P. Galvin has recently been serving in Norfolk, Virginia as Canadian National Liaison Representative to NATO Supreme Allied Command - Transformation.

The Commander of 1 Canadian Air Division/Canadian NORAD Region, Major-General J.M. Duval will preside over the ceremony which will commence at 1030 hours in the gymnasium, located at 29 Duxford Road, CFB North Bay.
